Mayor’s welcome

Welcome to the 2025 Glen Eira Storytelling Festival!

21 June–12 July 2025

Welcome to the 2025 Glen Eira Storytelling Festival!

Whether fact or fiction, stories inspire emotion in readers and listeners. It’s also through stories that we learn about ourselves, our communities, and the world around us.

We have an incredible lineup for our 15th Storytelling Festival which draws on the past, shares dreams of the future and, in some improvisation sessions, gets made up on the spot.

There is so much to choose from that I am reluctant to choose highlights. However, I think I can safely give ‘spoilers’ of this year’s line up to encourage you to read the entire program.

If you’re looking to be inspired, informed, intrigued or entertained — we have something for you.

If you want to listen to authors talking about their works, learn about the incredible work of editing or laugh with some comedic improvisation, continue reading.

Alongside our literary lineup, don’t miss Forever Changed, a deeply personal and immersive concert from ARIA-nominated pianist and composer Nat Bartsch. Inspired by her own experience of being neurodivergent, Nat has created a series of lullabies that explore the sensory preferences of people with autism and ADHD.

Come and explore what’s on from 21 June to 12 July across Glen Eira, our libraries and at Glen Eira Town Hall.

My fellow Councillors and I hope you enjoy the Festival
